Puncture Repair
Repair or Replace?
A punctured tyre can catch you off guard—whether on your daily drive or during a long trip. But the big question is: should you repair it, or replace it?
That depends on a few key factors:
-
Size & location of the puncture
-
Extent of internal damage (often caused by driving on a flat)
At Koenic, we follow strict industry standards and work in line with major tyre manufacturers to ensure every repair is safe, effective, and reliable.
Can Your Tyre Be Repaired?
Repairable:
Punctures within the tread area, no larger than 6mm, with no internal damage.
Not repairable:
Punctures on the shoulder or sidewall—replacement is the safest option.

Important Tyre Repair Guidelines
-
Repair punctures as soon as possible—don’t delay.
-
Avoid “quick fix” temporary solutions—they aren’t safe for long-term use.
-
Never repair a tyre without removing it from the wheel—hidden damage can be dangerous.
Can Run Flat Tyres Be Repaired?
There’s a lot of confusion around run flats. The truth is: sometimes they can be repaired, but not always.
-
Possible: If the puncture is in the crown area and the tyre hasn’t been driven on while flat.
-
Not Recommended: Most manufacturers advise replacement once a run flat has been used deflated, due to possible structural damage.
For your safety, we recommend replacing damaged run flats.
